The agents obtains information from phone companies that took place at the time of the robberies in the Dallas area. This will not violate the fourth amendment rights of citizens when the phone company gives the government records of the location that phones made and received calls. Just the idea of this tracking not long ago would be the making of a spy movie. Those cellular towers that you see around town are used to locate the general direction of any mobile phone but the accuracy of this tracking depends on the density of cell site as part of this method.
