Tracking Cell Phones

Known as the Scarecrow Bandits who robbed over 20 Texas banks two years ago, cause the FBI to create a method as a way to locate the thieves. The agents obtains information from phone companies that took place at the time of the robberies in the Dallas area. It was through these phone records that the FBI arrested and convicted two men for at least 12 of the heists.
Although the ground rules for this is still uncertain, the federal appeals court will take into consideration the idea of creating standards to locate wireless devices. The Obama administration feels tracking should be allowed since us Americans have no “reasonable expectation of privacy” as the the whereabouts of their cell phones.
This will not violate the fourth amendment rights of citizens when the phone company gives the government records of the location that phones made and received calls. Just the idea of this tracking not long ago would be the making of a spy movie. Those cellular towers that you see around town are used to locate the general direction of any mobile phone but the accuracy of this tracking depends on the density of cell site as part of this method.
